Tell us what’s going on. You may be planning ahead, helping someone return home, or noticing that part of the house is harder to use. This free conversation is a chance to ask questions and see whether a consultation would help.

What happens, and what you receive
We look at the home with you, paying attention to how you get around and use each space. That might mean talking through the front steps, getting into the shower, or reaching something you use every day.
Afterward, you receive a prioritized plan of what to handle first and what can wait. It gives you something concrete to talk over with family and anyone helping with the work. You can see a sample plan here.
The first conversation is on us. If a home consultation makes sense, you’ll know the cost before anything is scheduled.

In Greater Charlotte, we come to your home. If you’re not sure whether your address is in our visit area, just ask.
From anywhere, a remote home review by video leads to the same kind of prioritized plan. Family members in other cities can join the call, and your goals still guide the plan.

A project is a chance to think beyond how a room will look. While plans are still taking shape, we can help you consider doorway widths, bathroom access, and room for a main-floor bedroom.
Sharing a home across generations
When different generations share a home, everyone brings their own way of living. We help you think through shared spaces, access between floors, and the everyday needs that deserve a place in the plan.
Choosing helpful technology
A light that comes on automatically or an easier way to see who’s at the door may be worth considering. We help you think about where technology would be useful and comfortable to use.
4 · Putting the plan into practice
Help when it’s time to act
A recommendation can leave you with more questions: which product fits, where to find it, and who should do the work. We help you work through those decisions until the next step is clear.
When it makes sense for your home, we can help you choose practical products and source select accessibility hardware through Harmony. If you need a contractor or a physical or occupational therapist, we help you connect with the right person when it’s time.

Universal design
Comfort and ease can be part of the design.
Universal design considers how a space can work for people with different needs and abilities. A lever handle, better lighting, or a shower entrance that’s easier to step through can make everyday use part of the design conversation. Your home should still feel like yours.
